ABOUT SCOTT STEELMAN:
Structural family therapy and cognitive-behavioral interventions form the basis of Mr. Steelman's approach to working with clients. His style is directive and prescriptive, guiding clients towards insight, problem-solving and independence. Rather than encouraging emotional dependence on the therapist, his view of treatment is to empower and teach clients strategies to solve problems and develop satisfying relationships with others. His expectation is that clients will experience significant relief of symptoms and overall treatment progress within 10 sessions or less. Mr. Steelman believes relief from symptoms requires coping strategies for the predictable and unpredictable distress that impacts us all. He advises "life is too short to be miserable."
